Depart to Chengdu, upon arrival, transfer to hotel.
Morning free and easy, suggest exploring Kuanzhai Alley or Jinli Old Street, where street buskers and craftsmen show off their trades. Both areas are lined with shops selling Sichuan snacks, food, cafes, and traditional crafts. In the evening, transfer to train station, board a night train heading to Lhasa, Tibet.
The Qinghai-Tibet railway travels through an average elevation of 3700m above sea level, the train passes through ecologically fragile areas, offering majestic view of snowcapped peaks, glacier, lakes, and grassland.
Arrival in Lhasa (3600m) in the morning, transfer to hotel. One should rest well and avoid strenuous activities to acclimatize to the high altitude.
In the morning, visit Potala Palace and Lhasa’s oldest temple – Jokhang Monastery. In the afternoon, free and easy to explore Barkhor Street, which is crowded by pilgrims and traders selling exotic articles.
Journey through numerous high passes to reach Yamdrot Lake (4440m), the world’s highest-elevation freshwater lake. Spectacular view of mountain ranges and glacier en-route to Gyantse, view of Gyantse Fortress. Overnight in Shigatse (3800m).
Morning visit Tashi Lhunpo Monastery before driving to Tingri (4300m), the journey offers a sweeping view of the Himalayan ranges including the world’s highest peak Mt. Everest (8844.43m). The snow-capped peaks and wild landscape are gifts to nature lovers.
Morning head to Gangga Town to gaze at the spectacular snow-capped peaks of Mount Everest, Cho Oyu, and Lhotse from afar, and explore the ancient fortress ruins. Afterwards, switch to environmentally friendly vehicle to reach the Everest Base Camp (EBC, 5200m), which is a protected reserved area. Overnight at campsite, admire spectacular sunset view.
Wake up to amazing sunrise view, after breakfast, travel the same route back to Shigatse for overnight stay.
Drive to Namtso, deemed sacred by the locals. The turquoise blue lake reflected images of the surrounding snow mountains, rows of prayer flags flapping by the shoreline. Later, drive to Dangxiong (4290m) for overnight stay.
After breakfast, drive back to Lhasa. Free and easy in the afternoon, one may hang around at the cafe or local tea shop to enjoy slow time. At night, suggest visiting the Potala Square for lit-up night scene photography.
Morning free and easy, could do last minute souvenir shopping at Barkhor Street. Afternoon transfer to airport for domestic flight to Chengdu, board a night flight back to Kuala Lumpur.
Early morning arrives in Kuala Lumpur. End of tour.

Once worked at a radio and television station, Bear may not be the most outspoken type, but his sense of humour might hit you at the most unexpected moment. From a media man, he switched career to a totally different industry to become an air steward, meeting all sorts of personalities on board and landing in different cities of the world. Armed with many interesting “flight” stories, he was invited to become a columnist by several media outlets to share his tales from the air to the land.
Despite having innumerable flying mileage, he is still keen to further explore the big wide world. He believes that exploring the world with whom is more important than reaching a destination.
